[Photo(s) Soboba Royal Springs Golf Course has a spectacular view of the mountains! The environment is absolutely beautiful! We had a 10:15 am tee time on Sunday, July 26, 1998. We teed off at 10:42, not because of overcrowding, because we were ready to tee off at that time. There were no groups in front of us and none following. We "owned" the golf course! The facilities are old and very well kept. The Club House is charming with lots of equipment for sale. Arrive early so that you can spend time browsing in the club house, it is pretty neat! On the first tee: We teed off at 10:42. The temperature was 96 degrees. There was no wind. It was warm! The tee boxes were in great shape. The fairways were great!. The greens were green and well watered. The refreshment cart stopped multiple times. Water coolers were present and the first three were void of water. We did not wait at any tee box! The desert and the mountains were beautiful! There was lots of wild life! The flora was beautiful and fragrant. The course made me feel like I had to play target golf, the fairways were narrow on many holes. Dog legs and water added to the challenge. Be sure to look at the score card for the course lay out, you will see what I mean by dog legs and water! Try to play with someone local that has course knowledge and you will not do as I did and miss the turn on a dog leg and blast a shot into the driving range (major embarrassment)! When we made the turn at the club house for the back nine. I stopped to try the food at the snack bar. What a great Turkey Dog! Recommended eating! On the tenth hole, after a relaxed snack, we resumed play. Again, no one in front of us and no one following! There were players in the distance, in front and behind, but they impeded play in no way, shape or fashion. The temperature was hot! Around 106, however the wind started and it was pleasant. Which brings me to my last major observation - Would I play this course again? In a New York Minute! Would I recommend it to anyone? Not only Yes, but h... Yes! If I brought a client there, and that client had the kind of reception that I had, I think that my client would be doing a lot of business. The following are observations that may be of interest to you: Staff: Friendly, Polite, Helpful, Knowledgeable. Marshall: Friendly, Polite, Helpful, Knowledgeable. Driving Range: Served it's purpose. A little beat up. Putting Green: Beautiful Shape. Speed of Play: No Waiting! Equipment: Carts: Good shape, card, and power! Soft Spikes: Required. Refreshments: On the Course: Water coolers. Several were empty. Refreshment cart. Frequent, Friendly. In Clubhouse: Did not sample.
